Welcome to

Market Center

The Market Center neighborhood is a community of enormous opportunity for all in downtown Baltimore City. Once Baltimore’s primary retail district, Market Center is uniquely positioned to foster business, residential, tourist and revenue growth. This can be achieved equitably, without displacement, in a location readily accessible to most Baltimoreans.

Once the retail epicenter for Baltimore, the 27-block Market Center is transforming into a mixed-use neighborhood. Market Center is home to the region’s most robust transit, Baltimore’s principal public market, central library, major institutions, sports and cultural attractions, hundreds of small businesses, the Bromo Arts & Entertainment District, a fast-growing residential community, the Market Center National Historic District, and all or portions of four local historic districts.

The Market Center Organizations

The Market Center Merchants Association and Market Center Community Development Corporation are two separate organizations, with their own articles of incorporation, tax ids, by-laws, boards, and budgets. However, they coordinate closely and complement each other’s work to revitalize Market Center.
