Market Center Merchants Association
Adjusting the Boundaries of Baltimore's Downtown Management Autority
Market Center is made up of the 27-block area
(VIEW MAP) around Lexington Market. Its boundaries encompass Franklin Street on the
north, Baltimore Street on the south, Liberty Street on the east, and Paca
Street on the west. The Market Center Merchants Association includes
merchants, property owners and supporting organizations within this
community. A Retail Business District License fee, assessed to businesses in
the area, secures membership into the Association.
The purpose of the group is to promote and advance the interests of the
retail, rental, service, and professional businesses in this area. They have
helped solve problems ranging from lack of parking to area clean-up. The
organization helps to create a closer relationship between public and
private interests. Additionally, the Association is charged with advertising
and promoting the district and conducts several promotional campaigns each
year.
The Market Center Merchants Association Board of Directors and Officers
usually meet on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 5:30pm in the Hippodrome
Theatre Board Room. This schedule is subject to change and the next meeting date will be posted on our home page.
